Former Countdown whizz Carol Vorderman has kindly requested that her family and friends steer clear of buying her presents this Christmas. The 61-year-old, who has a property in Clifton, has said that all she really wants this festive season is the 'time and laughter' of her nearest and dearest.
Carol wrote on Twitter: "Simple message going out to all my friends/family for Xmas. Please don't buy me presents, just give me your time.
"You can help me tidy my rubbish, or come for a walk or sort a paddleboard day for us.... anything. Your time and laughter is all I really want."

The television personality, who has recently been unwell with the flu, was greeted with plenty of plans to keep her busy in 2023, whilst many echoed her sentiment. "Does that mean we’ll actually find time to go flying in 2023 then?" said Katy Lee MBE. "Hope all is well missus x"
Rodney Harrison wrote: "Best present is to give someone your time. Enjoy your Christmas."
Carol recently revealed the 'lovely' meaning behind her name on This Morning. The soon-to-be 62-year-old told Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary: "There is a specific reason... it is because I was born on Christmas Eve, Christmas Carol.
"So everybody says, 'Oh, as your birthday is at Christmas we are going to buy you an extra big present'. They never do. So it all sort of merges."
Surprised by the festive reasoning behind Carol's name, Alison said: "I will never forget your birthday again, Carol. Christmas Carol, Christmas Eve - that is so lovely!"
