Carol Vorderman has suddenly lost her voice amid speculation she’s the mystery star behind The Masked Singer ’s Dragon.
The former Countdown star, 60, is heavily rumoured to be the incredible voice behind the colourful dragon costume.
And now fans have shared their concern ahead of this weekend’s instalment of the ITV competition.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, Carol revealed that her voice had disappeared when before she to paid tribute to the late Captain Sir Tom Moore who lost his 11-day battle with Covid on Tuesday.
However, as she praised the late heroic veteran, viewers became concerned about how croaky Carol sounded.
Due to the rumours that she’s secretly a The Masked Singer star, fans were quick to rush to Twitter to voice their worries about her chances being slashed in the competition.
Thankfully, the show has been recorded well in advance, so even if it is Carol behind the costume, her dodgy throat won’t affect her performance.
Poking fun at her sore throat, Carol admitted that she sounds like Marge Simpson.
“So, one of the benefits of losing my voice is, I do a b****y brilliant Marge Simpson impression.”
Sidelining her humourous post, anxious fans quizzed Carol on her Masked Singer chances with a sore throat.
“You’re laughing now, but what will happen on The Masked Singer when you can’t sing?” asked one curious follower.
“Carol! We know you’re Dragon, and this is gonna give it away completely. I can’t wait,” another echoed.
“You don’t sound like Marge, you sound like a Dragon lol,” another cheekily wrote.
Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: “Hope you get better.
Rumours began to swirl that the TV star was Dragon on The Masked Singer after guest judge Alan Carr threw her name into the hat.
The Masked Singer UK continues Saturday at 7 PM on ITV.
