Carol Vorderman says Lorraine Kelly is doing well as she replaces her on Lorraine for a second day.
Lorraine was unable to make her ITV show yesterday after testing positive for Covid, but her replacement Carol has insisted her friend is doing well and will hopefully be back on the programme later this week, testing permitting.
Carol led the show yesterday, and is leading again today, where spoke to Louise Redknapp about summer fashion, Christine McGuinness who discussed her marriage woes. She was also joined by a happiness expert who showed her how to manifest happiness as well as someone who is trying to help others ditch alcohol.
Appearing in the studio today, Susanna asked how Lorraine was, and Carol replied to say Lorraine was doing well and that she and everyone is hopeful the ITV presenter will be back later this week providing she gets a negative test.
Yesterday, Susanna seemed shocked to see Carol in the seat, confessing she didn't think she was hosting the show until she spotted her in the studio - appearing to confirm it was a late replacement.
Responding to Susanna, she said: "We didn't think so either but sadly Lorraine has caught the dreaded you know what, and I'm sitting in for a few days here. But we are wishing her a speedy recovery."
Lorraine announced on social media on Monday morning that she would be missing the first few shows this week.
"Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend. Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon," she penned on Twitter as she reassured fans she was ok.
"Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
Lorraine previously opened up about how she is feeling better than ever after reaching her goal 1.5 stone weight loss goal.
She added: "I comfort ate and would just find myself hovering around the biscuit tin and the fridge for all sorts of goodies.
"Me and Steve would have a massive, big chocolate plate every night," she told the Express, "It started off quite small but ended up being huge! I was going through packets of biscuits and unhealthy grub. I wasn't doing as much exercise and mindlessly eating, just eating for the sake of eating. Now I’ve got much more of a balance."
