Carol Vorderman is a 'proud mamma' after son graduates from uni despite struggles

Carol Vorderman is a very "proud mamma" after her son graduated from university with a first class degree, despite battling ADHS, ADD and dyslexia.

Exploding with pride, the stunning star has taken to Instagram to publicly celebrate her son's achievements.

Her son Cameron, 24, had his graduation at University of the West of England: Bristol delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but has now donned his cap and gown in order to collect his degree.

Proud mum Carol, 61, headed to Bristol before uploading a slew of snaps from the ceremony.

In one of the snaps she can be seen posing beside her son who graduated with a first-class degree in animation.

Another snap sees Carol beside her son as well as her daughter Katie, 31.

Looking full of contentment, the trio smiled for the camera to commemorate the special occasion.

Wearing a gorgeous floor-length navy blue gown, the ageless former Countdown presenter teamed the look with a chic white trench coat, black shades and a cream handbag.

Posting the snaps on Instagram for all to see, Carol penned: "Well @uwebristol University of West of England...IT WAS THE BEST...

"It was organised so well and so friendly and beautiful and the music blaring out was new and brilliant. We could all see brilliantly with the steep seating instead of being at the back of a ball not being able to see.

"About 100 were graduating and everyone was so happy. The speeches were happy and amazing....even big fireworks at the end.....and they all got goodie bags and well.....it was amazing.

"Like so many students who finished their degrees during Covid times, they graduated in a virtual ceremony at the time.

"So last night was my boy receiving officially his First Class Honours Degree in Animation."

She concluded the post and signed off with: "Proud Mamma."

Just last year the Channel 4 favourite spoke out about Cameron's battle with ADHD, ADD and dyslexia.

Speaking to the Daily Mail last year, Carol revealed that her son had gone through "endless bullying" because of his disabilities.

"No school would accept him," she told the paper.

"I was going to give up work to teach him but even I couldn't teach a child with his severe needs.

"He struggled and when I say struggled, it was off the scale. I had to find him a special school, if you like."

She added: "Cam stuck with it, through endless bullying, changed school, developed strategies to learn. He got a first class honours degree in animation and now he has just received his master's degree in animation and video effects."
