TV and radio presenter Carol Vorderman has branded the UK Government "shameful" after the House of Commons descended into chaos this evening with claims of 'manhandling' and 'bullying' of Tory MPs over the fracking vote.
Allegations of bullying were levelled against Government whips, with Welsh Labour MP Chris Bryant saying some MPs had been "physically manhandled into another lobby", conduct he said he felt amounted to bullying. He is not the only one who described Tory MPs being physically coerced into voting against the Labour bid to ban fracking which the Government eventually won.
The Radio Wales presenter was appalled and posted on Twitter about what kind of example the politicians involved were setting while questioning climate protesters who glued themselves to roads and threw soup at artwork.
Carol wrote: "I am absolutely appalled at what our parliament has become THEY HAVE CREATED ANARCHY and they question kids and others glueing themselves close to artwork or on the roads? What do you expect with this as an example of how to behave? Open bullying, harassment, it's shameful."

Former Countdown maths and spelling whizz Carol had been tweeting about the state of politics in the UK for much of the evening and also called for a general election after former Home Secretary, Suella Braverman left Liz Truss' goverment. She said: "Please God (of whichever flavour you prefer) can we just reboot with a GENERAL ELECTION Voting since 1979 & have never known such a ruinous state. Politicians who see their job as a 'career' & NOT a 'public duty' to all of us. They don't know the meaning of the words. SHAMEFUL."
Ms Braverman resigned after sending an official document from her personal email, as she criticised the “tumultuous time” under Liz Truss. In her resignation letter, Suella Braverman admitted sending an “official document from my personal email”.
Meanwhile at the House of Commons after the vote there were chaotic scenes as Cardiff North MP Anna McMorrin said: "Extraordinary stuff happening here during the vote on fracking which is apparently 'not a confidence vote'. I’ve just witnessed one Tory member in tears being manhandled into the lobby to vote against our motion to continue the ban on fracking."
Many of Carol's followers got behind the pilot and the Maths Factor founder with one writing the TV personaility should get in and crunch the numbers instead of the current government. Others encouraged the North Walian-born star to support Welsh independence. Michael Grand wrote: "Very well said Carol." While another said: "Good for you - Go, Carol!"
