Carol Vorderman has asked her friends and family to not buy her presents this Christmas. The 61-year-old former Countdown star posted a message to Twitter, stressing that she would rather people give her their "time".
In the heartfelt post, Carol wrote: "Simple message going out to all my friends/family for Xmas. Please don't buy me presents, just give me your time. you can help me tidy my rubbish, or come for a walk or sort a paddleboard day for us....anything. Your time and laughter is all I really want."

One person replied: "Pheeew… glad you said something ‘Caz’… I’m proper skint this year and I’ve been cleaning up an old toilet brush & toilet roll holder set… hoping you wouldn’t notice it’s not new… I’ll put it back on the wall now… I’m still expecting something fabulous off you!"
A second referred to Carol's passion for flying, writing: "Does that mean we’ll actually find time to go flying in 2023 then? Hope all is well missus x"
But some appreciated her sentiment with a third writing: "What a great example to people of what the Christmas spirit is all about," praising Carol's selflessness.
Carol was Missing In Action from ITV's This Morning earlier this week after she was ill. In a video she posted on social media, she said: "Well... I'm four days into the flu thing. Oh god I feel rough... er and look it. I haven't brushed my hair for four days so there's that. Thank you for all your lovely messages." You can read more about that here.
