Carol Vorderman forced to apologise after BBC guest makes awkward blunder live on air

Carol Vorderman was forced to apologise when a celebrity guest swore live on her BBC radio show.

The former Countdown presenter from Clifton became flustered during her slot on BBC Radio Wales yesterday (February 5) when her guest, singer Imelda May, unexpectedly swore mid-show.

Carol tried to laugh it off before saying she must "apologise for that word that I can't repeat."

As Express.co.uk reports, Imelda joined Carol to talk about her music and her new poetry book, A Lick and a Promise.

The conversation turned to Imelda’s musical collaborations over the years, which includes duets with the late Meat Loaf, Noel Gallagher and the Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood.

Imelda said: “It’s all about telling a story and then afterwards I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe I sang with such and such’.

“But you create friendships, within any workplace, with people that you meet all the time.

“And I personally don’t hang around with a*******s, to be honest with you.”

After noticing what she had said, Imelda quickly backtracked and exclaimed: “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that on the radio. I like nice people and good people!”

Flustered Carol could be heard giggling in the background before jumping in: “I have to apologise for that word that I can’t repeat!”

The shocked singer said: “I’m sorry!” and Carol assured her: “Oh, don’t worry, it’s fine.”

It comes just days after Carol, 61, brushed off a troll who made a rude comment about her appearance.

Posting on Instagram last Monday, Carol said: "MONDAY Someone just sent me a comment,

"'Carol, why don't you brush your hair for once' How outrageous.....

"I brushed it last Friday.... Some people."
