Carol Vorderman entered her sixties by sharing a sexy throwback photo of herself in a bikini and expressing her excitement about entering a new decade.
The TV babe was a Christmas Eve baby back in 1960 – and is living proof that the ageing process can be both graceful and sexy.
Taking to social media on her big day, Carol uploaded a photograph of herself from several years earlier – showing her posing in a bikini and clutching a huge mug.
Fans scrolling through the images shared via Instagram discovered that the sizzling sun soaked photo had been sent into space – with Carol explaining her celebratory anecdote.
She wrote: “Happy 37th Birthday to me.
“I’ve LOVED my 50s.They started with an astronaut friend taking this photo up to the Space Station so I could ‘sunbathe in space’. The rest of the years have been equally absurd.”
She continued: “I’m the luckiest woman on earth.
“Life has only just begun! Bring it on. #LovedAndLoving #ThankyouYouKnowWhoYouAre.”
True enough, the images showed the original photograph had been taken to space and displayed on a window of the International Space Station.
Carol’s dazzling smile lit up the window while the earth could be seen thousands of miles away.
While a further image showed the bikini shot of Carol stamped with the International Space Station official print.
Fans, followers and fellow celebrities were among those wishing Carol many happy returns.
Fiesta newsreader Piers Morgan was among those sending well wishes, writing in the comments section of Carol’s post: “Happy 37th, Vorders.. you’re ageing like a Chateau Latour, better with every year.”
Melanie Sykes, Myleene Klass and Davina McCall were among other stars to wish Carol a “Happy Birthday”.
