Carol Vorderman celebrates 40 years in television

Popular UK television icon, Carol Vorderman celebrates 40 years in the television industry this year. Over the years, Vorderman has been featured on our screens plenty of times on many well-known shows.

The presenter took to social media to express her excitement and thank her fans for their continued support. Vorderman took to social media to say: “Still around doing a bit of telly since 1982 and enjoying it lots.

“And now being a small part of the This Morning family with so many lovely people, it is a total joy. Hosting Lorraine for a while and appearing on lots of shows as a guest, it has been a great year.”

Carol is hoping for yet another successful year next year.

“So much more planned for 2023, starting with Taskmaster on New Year’s Day. Then, an exciting daily quizzy riddly video and podcast from Monday to Friday, starting on Monday, January 9. It is called ‘Perfect Ten’ and is all done in 10 minutes.

"And thank you for all the lovely messages. It means the world,” Vorderman continued.

Vorderman began her career in 1982 when she joined Channel 4 game show Countdown. She appeared on the show from then before leaving in 2008.

While appearing on Countdown, Vorderman began presenting other shows for various broadcasters including Better Homes and The Pride of Britain Awards for ITV, as well as guest hosting shows such as Have I Got News for You, The Sunday Night Project and Lorraine.

Between 2011 and 2014, Vorderman was also a presenter of ITV’s Loose Woman.

Despite being in the television industry for 40 years, Vorderman has no plans to slow down is hoping that 2023 will be another big year.
