The alcoholic beverage experience on cruise ships has become a key part of cruising for many passengers. It's not longer just about getting a tropical drink and kicking back by the pool.
Royal Caribbean (RCL) and Carnival Cruise Line (CCL) , especially on their newer ships have added mixology bars, craft cocktails, and much more thoughtful liquor offerings. It's not just about getting passengers into a good mood, delivering a full-on adult beverage experience has become part of the basic package.
Many cruise lines have added exclusive beers and Carnival has its own line of hard seltzers. The company's Holland America Line is entering that market with its own branded alcoholic beverage.
"Holland America Line is raising the bar on its luxury experiences with the introduction of its first-ever branded sparkling wine. Crafted in collaboration with Four Feathers Wine Services in Prosser, Washington, the exclusive wine is made using the Méthode Traditionnelle, which is the same process used to craft champagne," the cruise line shared on its website.

Holland America Line seeks to offer luxury
“Our goal was to create a wine that elevates a sense of luxury on board,” said Senior Beverage Manager Drew Foulk. “Whether our guests are celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging during their voyage, we aim to provide them with something truly exceptional.”
Produced with grapes grown in the heart of Washington’s renowned Columbia Valley, the sparkling wine reflects both quality and sustainability. This specific wine has a profile of ripe peach, shortbread, and vanilla custard on the nose. Once guests take a sip, they will taste apple fritter, crème brûlée, and praline, with fresh citrus and Granny Smith apple following through the finish.
