Carnival capers at Knowsley Safari Park this half term

Stilt-walkers and trapeze artists have tumbled into Knowsley Safari Park this holiday season, bringing all the fun of a seaside carnival.

Traditional circus acts, pier-themed games stalls, and workshops for children can all be enjoyed in the attraction's foot safari area this May half term, just a stone's throw away from sea lions, birds of prey, meerkats, giraffes, and the majestic Amur tiger.

Stephanie Costello, events manager at Knowsley Safari said: “The Great British Seaside is a national institution and a great way for families and friends to make memories. Our very own Seaside Carnival is a fantastic way to bring a taste of this to the Safari during May half term.

"We can’t promise socks in sandals and knotted handkerchiefs - or even the weather - but we can ensure our guests enjoy a wonderfully fun day out."

Various performances will take place daily outside a gazebo in the foot safari area each day from May 27 until June 4. The funfair opens at 11am with a welcome walk from towering stilt-walkers, and demonstrations of different aerial acts - silks, hoops, and straps - will take place on the quarter to every hour.

Children can get to grips with the basics of plate-spinning, hoola-hooping, and acrobatics in circus skills workshops, all included in the general admission ticket price.

Seaside favourites including Coconut Shy, Bottle Ring Toss, Beat the Buzzer and Ball in a Bucket bring a touch of nostalgia to older guests, with prizes up for grabs for anyone who manages to beat all four.

The seaside carnival will run at Knowsley Safari Park, alongside its usual drive-through and walk-through attractions, until Saturday. For further information and to book tickets visit here.
