Although Mykhailo Mudryk has only played 35 minutes in a Chelsea shirt, excitement is already starting to build over what he can bring to the Blues following his £62million move in January. Arsenal looked in pole position to sign the Ukraine international, but Chelsea swooped in and executed the perfect transfer hijack on their London rivals to sign Mudryk.
Graham Potter has since had close to three works to work with the 22-year-old, who had played minimal football since November, allowing him to build on the exciting cameo he offered against Liverpool.
Mudryk terrorised James Milner at Anfield which saw Jurgen Klopp sub off the veteran midfielder for Trent Alexander-Arnold just moments after he came on . A mazy run also nearly saw Mudryk break the deadlock but his effort hit the side netting.

Displays in training and that brief spell on the pitch in Merseyside was enough for his teammate Carney Chukwuemeka to sing his praises. "He's been top, even in training the linking as well, saw it on the pitch against Liverpool before I slipped," he said, as quoted via Football Daily. "He’s a top guy, hard working. He's always motivated to the best version of himself. He's a top player for us, hopefully he can continue to help us win games.
Mudryk was included in Chelsea's Champions League squad for the knockout stages following his arrival with his performances in the competition for Shakhtar Donetsk certainly justifying that inclusion. In late October, he scored a superb goal against Celtic running nearly half the length of the pitch before firing in an effort from 20 yards.
Most were likely only seeing the first of Mudyrk in the Champions League this season, but that cannot be said for Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf who is looking forward to watching more of the 22-year-old having kept an eye on his progress in Ukraine.
"I am excited about Mykhailo Mudryk," he wrote in a column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea. "I followed him in Ukraine, and he’s definitely a very talented player.
“Hopefully he stays fit and he will perform very well for us. I saw his cameo against Liverpool and some clips went viral. Let’s give him time to settle and to see what he can show. He became a star just signing for Chelsea and that’s what it is. He is a great player, a very young player, but full of quality.”
