A Division Two Gaelic football match in Leitrim was abandoned due to a bizarre incident involving a supporter who joined the field of play.
The rivalry match between Ballinaglera and Allen Gaels was called off on Saturday night due to protests. The game had to be called off as the referee was left with no choice.
He had threw the ball in just a few moments earlier to start the second half without any Ballinaglera players on the pitch.

According to reports from the game, the referee blew his whistle several times before shouting that the game will restart without Ballinaglera because of their long delay in getting to the field.
He threw the ball in under extraordinary conditions with only one team on the field. Brian Mulvey scored what must have been the easiest goal of his career while Allen Gaels were in complete control of the situation in Shane McGettigan Park.
If it had not been for the efforts of a Ballinaglera spectator who, despite not dressing for the occasion, did his utmost to keep the ball out, it would have been simpler. Then madness unfolded.
The Ballinaglera players emerged from the changing room and approached the referee. Despite the fact that players from both teams got involved, the referee stood his ground. After all that, the match was immediately called off due to the commotion with the Gaels leading 2-6 to 1-4.
All that remains is for the scandal to be heard by the Leitrim County Board, who will then rule on this contentious and truly bizarre conclusion.
