Dayna Finn has ensured her first AFLW goal was a memorable one, the Gaelic star kicking the match-winner in Carlton's thrilling four-point win over Collingwood at Victoria Park.
The Magpies trailed by 15 points midway through the third quarter of Sunday's match.
But in a thrilling finish, the Magpies hit the lead with 12 minutes remaining when Lauren Butler kicked a stunner from the pocket.
That goal gave Collingwood huge hope of snaring the win that would lift them off the bottom of the ladder.
But there was one more twist to come, with Finn snapping a goal while being bumped with seven minutes remaining in what proved to be the match-winner in the 5.2 (32) to 4.4 (28) victory.
"It was pretty special - my first goal, but it comes off the back of our hunt and pressure," Finn told the Seven Network after her 14th AFLW match.
"I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
"It's been a rocky road, there's been ups and downs and we've been seeing glimpses of our really good footy.
"We've gotten knocked down and we got back up again. I'm delighted the team stuck with it."
Keeley Sherar starred for Carlton with 24 disposals, 339m gained and one goal, while Abbie McKay tallied six clearances among her 18 disposals.
For Collingwood, Mikala Cann finished with 21 disposals and a goal, while Brittany Bonnici (21 disposals, seven clearances) was also busy.
The match marked the first clash between the two clubs for premiership points at Victoria Park since the men's teams did battle in round seven, 1986.
Carlton came up trumps in that VFL match by 40 points in front of 27,069 fans, and the Blues were singing the song again on Sunday.
The result improved Carlton's record for the season to 4-6, while Collingwood (1-9) must beat Melbourne at Ikon Park next Saturday to have any hope of avoiding the wooden spoon.
The ball spent more than 75 per cent of the opening quarter in Carlton's forward half, and the Blues were rewarded with goals to Amelia Velardo and Breann Moody.
Collingwood entered their forward-50 zone only four times for the term, but they at least came away with a goal after Jordyn Allen was gifted a 50m penalty.
Carlton's Mia Austin kicked the only goal of the second quarter when she caught her opponent holding the ball, giving the Blues an 18-9 lead at half-time.
The lead extended to 15 points midway through the third quarter when Sherar shrugged off a tackle to kick a goal on the run, but Imogen Barnett pegged one back for the Magpies.
Collingwood hit the lead when Cann and Butler nailed goals in the final term, but Finn's snap and some desperate Carlton defence got the Blues over the line.
