Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has filed a claim to sue Everton in London’s high court.
Ancelotti’s lawyers filed the Italian’s claim against his former employers late on Friday, according to court records. It relates to “general commercial contracts and arrangements” and is listed to be heard in the commercial court although no further details are provided about the basis of the claim.
Ancelotti, 64, was appointed Everton manager in December 2019, signing a four-and-a-half year contract but he quit after just 18 months in charge to be re-hired by Real Madrid on June 1, 2021, who had previously taken charge of between 2013-15.

There had been great excitement among Evertonians when their club convinced such a legendary figure within the game to join them after he had won trophies in all of European football’s ‘big five’ leagues – including a Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season in England with Chelsea in 2009/10 – but the bulk of his Goodison Park reign was played behind closed doors due to coronavirus restrictions with the team finishing 12th and 10th in the table.
