Carlo Ancelotti speaks out after son Davide linked to Everton manager job

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has spoken out after his son, Davide, was linked with the vacant Everton manager post.

The 33-year-old, who was the iconic Italian tactician's assistant manager during his time at Goodison Park, emerged as a rumoured contender to succeed Frank Lampard. It had been claimed he was lined up as an alternative after Marcelo Bielsa emerged as one of the early candidates to take charge of the Blues.

However, former Burnley man Sean Dyche is preparing to be installed as the new Everton leader ahead of their return to Premier League action next weekend against Arsenal.

Davide Ancelotti followed his dad to record Champions League winners Real Madrid as the 63-year-old returned to the Spanish capital for another stint. His right-hand man has previously expressed his intent to step out of his shadow and eventually become a manager.

While that ambition remains open, the former AC Milan and Chelsea boss has conceded that it isn't his time yet.

"Davide wants to be a first-team coach and one day it will happen, but not now," Ancelotti said via Mundo Deportivo. "We’re very good here, he’s fine, and the day I stop coaching, or he wants to leave, he can do so without a problem.

"He has to do what is right for his career and he will do it because he has the capacity to. At the moment we’re very good here and we want to finish our job. It’s not done yet."
