Carlo Ancelotti has sent a message to Everton fans when recalling the moment Real Madrid offered him the chance to return to the Bernabeu.
The Italian led the La Liga giants to Champions League final victory over Liverpool on Saturday night as Vinicius Junior’s goal clinched a 1-0 win to hand Madrid their 14th European Cup, with the former Blues boss winning the Champions League for the fourth time.
Having left Everton in controversial circumstances last summer, supporters were unhappy with Ancelotti for walking out on the club.

But he joked they’ll be happier with him following the victory over Liverpool when reflecting on his return to Madrid and the phonecall when he was offered the job.
“That’s right, I wasn’t expecting the offer,” he told reporters. “Real Madrid had phoned about other things and then I was asked if I wanted to come back.
“You can’t say no to Real Madrid, it is impossible. Everton weren’t that happy of course.
"I think they are a bit happier now because we have won tonight.”
