Carlo Ancelotti makes Luka Modric comparison in verdict on Arsenal’s interest in Eduardo Camavinga

Carlo Ancelotti likened Arsenal target Eduardo Camavinga to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in shutting the door on the Frenchman leaving Real Madrid this month.

Standard Sport revealed on Friday that the Gunners were eyeing the France international for a loan deal as part of their push to win the Premier League.

Having admitted that he was being occasionally “unfair” in dishing out Camavinga’s game time, Madrid boss Ancelotti issued a clear verdict on the interest.

He told reporters: “[Camavinga] is untouchable, like Kroos and Modric.”

It follows Camavinga’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, asserting that the 20-year-old is determined to stay at Real having joined 18 months ago and won the Champions League and LaLiga double in his first campaign.

He stated: “Of course every club in the world would want him, but he’s very happy in Real Madrid and Real Madrid are very happy with Camavinga.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are on the verge of signing Polish defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in a £20million deal.

LaLiga duo Ivan Fresneda and Martin Zubimendi are also targets with talks planned for the Valladolid full-back while Real Sociedad midfielder Zubimendi has reportedly rejected a £52m switch.
