Celtic head to Hampden high on belief as they aim to retain the Viaplay Cup.
The Parkhead side have an opportunity to secure the silverware for a second-straight season under boss Ange Postecoglou with a success over Rangers at the National Stadium. Starfelt knows it’s a huge day for the club as they chase another trophy. The Swede revealed his team are excited at the prospect and will put it all on the line to triumph after warming up perfectly for the big one with a 4-0 win over Aberdeen.
Starfelt said: “All finals and all trophies are really big, so it will obviously be big for the club, for the team and the fans to win it. We have a great squad and great competition within the squad and training has been outstanding, so we will go in with a high confidence and a belief in our game.
We will have a good week of preparation and then we will do everything on the day to win it. It is a big game and we are very excited for it. We will rest up and then have a big game to look forward to. Every trophy means a lot to us, so we will always try to win as much as we can. It is a big game and we are looking forward to it a lot.”
Celtic have blasted 31 goals in their last nine games to fly into Hampden and Starfelt says there’s a good vibe in the camp. He explained: “We have really good confidence within the squad because we have been scoring a lot of goals. We have not been conceding many goals.
"We always want to score as many goals as possible and win by as many as possible. At this point, we don’t think too much about the goal difference, but it was a really strong performance [against Aberdeen] which gives us confidence going forward.”
