Carl Froch has claimed Conor McGregor would get "f***ed up" in a fresh boxing fight call-out.
Froch has recently been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame for his achievements in the sport which include beating George Groves in a historic rematch in 2014. The Nottingham star now analyses the sport and has escalated feuds with a number of high-profile names including Jake Paul and UFC star McGregor.
McGregor hit out at Froch with a violent threat in criticism of his punditry on a fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk, to which the British star reacted angrily. And in a fresh jibe, Froch believes the Irishman would avoid a boxing fight with him, but has insisted there is no hard feeling to the former UFC double-champion.
“[McGregor’s] shaved his beard since I wrote him off, ain’t he? I told him I was going to grab him by his beard and drag him outside,” he said in an interview with Boxing UK when discussing his online spat with McGregor. “He’s not a boxer, he doesn’t want to fight me, he’d get absolutely f***** up, but he might do the same to me in the cage and that is why we are both champion in our own right.
“He knows, if he wants a roll around, he knows where to come, but he ain’t going to want this smoke. Listen, I like Conor McGregor, there is a lot to admire about him. He’s got a lot of stupid haters that give him a lot of s***, but Conor McGregor, for me is somebody that I admire, I think he is great."
McGregor is one of the best talkers in the world of combat sports and as a result was involved in the second highest-selling pay-per-view fight with Floyd Mayweather. The Irishman has talked up a potential future re-appearance in the boxing ring, and a fight with Froch would likely draw huge interest particularly on domestic shores.

Froch's fight call-outs to McGregor have come after the Irishman made a fighting threat to the former world champion during a trademark social media outburst. He wrote: "That Froch tick, little scrawny pencil neck. I’ll grab his head and twist it clean off at a oner with my bare hands. Little wally of a thing. I’ll slap you around you little toffee nose t***pot."
Froch replied by quoting McGregor's tweet, writing: "Who is this mouthy little pr*** talking to? I will drag you outside with that wispy beard & show you how the big boys do it!!" McGregor is currently out of action however and is focused on a UFC return when he is able to compete again in 2023.
