A woman who died after falling from a nightclub fire escape is to be laid to rest later this week.
Emergency services rushed to Hey Amigos nightclub on West Street, Southport at around 2.55am on Sunday, September 4, after Katie Davenport fell from a fire escape during a night out. The 23-year-old was rushed to hospital but despite doctors' best efforts, died 13 days later on Saturday, September 17 at The Walton Centre.
Katie's sister, Lianne Clegg, has now asked people to join her and her family at Katie's funeral before celebrating her life that evening. Lianne said: "Katie’s funeral will take place this Friday on October 14 at 4pm at West Lancashire crematorium, followed at the Metro on Portland Street for a celebration of Katie’s short life.

"There is no dress code but Katie’s favourite colour was green. Only family flowers please but any voluntary donations can be made to The Walton Centre on the day. Please all, let’s give my baby sister the send off she deserves."
Lianne and her younger sister Cassie previously told the ECHO about how Katie was a "caring" woman and worked at Promenade Care Home before her death. Lianne said: "She was the most gorgeous person and everyone loved her.
"No one ever said a bad thing about her. She was so work-driven and she loved her job. She gave everything to her job and she gave everything that she had to make sure the residents at the home were okay.
"She was never bothered about drinking and clubbing. It's destroyed us. Out of the three of us, she was the only one with her head screwed on."
