Today we list her 30 beautiful names, 30 more than she had in life when she was used and abused as a puppy farm breeder and then left to die in a ditch.
The dog whose age is unknown, was taken into the hearts of the Northern Ireland public after news of her death was announced by the USPCA.
The spaniel was discovered lying in a ditch in South Armagh last weekend by a member of the public who managed to get help from the USPCA, knowing the dog was desperately sick.
But sadly all the efforts came too late. The dog’s abuser was nowhere to be found and has not been traced, her countless puppies have undoubtedly been sold and when she was deemed of no further value, she was dumped without even a collar.
She had no food or shelter, no ID chip and not even a name when she was thrown away like rubbish in a ditch where she would have died alone but for the kindness of a stranger lying motionless in the Longfield Road area of Forkhill, Co Armagh.
It is believed she had spent her lifetime being used to breed litter after litter of pups, probably Springer Spaniels, although vets say they could not be sure of her breed given her emaciated state.
Their swift medical checks determined that she was not only suffering from exhaustion, debilitating skin conditions and infections leaving her almost bald, but the dog was discovered to have a huge tumour in her abdomen.
Unfortunately there was little medical specialists at the USPCA could do to help her except warm her up, hold her gently and speak to her with love as she was sedated before being put to sleep.
And because they had to move so quickly to assessed the situation, they put her to sleep to end her suffering without even having enough time to give her a name.
But DogsLive readers reacted to her plight and asked to at least give her a name for her journey to Rainbow Bridge.
Aishling Denny started the move with her supporters at Siberian Husky NI on Facebook, and said: "I'm so happy people have gathered to give a name to this poor dog - it's the least she deserved. They are all beautiful names ad each one has a special meaning.
"She lived a life without love or a name, now she has 30 names and each one is sent to her with love and regret we couldn't help her sooner.
"No dog should live like this. She only knew love and care for the last few hours of her life. During her life as a breeder she'd have had no care or comfort, no gentle hand to hold her.
"The puppy farmer thought she was just a dog to be used and abused but today we claim her, she was our dog, Northern Ireland’s dog, we love her and we name her.'
