A carer was left "in tears" after being approached outside a Spar store on Christmas Eve.
Taking to Facebook to share what happened, the Whiston Hospital carer claims she was approached by a woman outside Spar on Prescot Road, St Helens while on her way to work. The stranger asked the lady, and another woman she was with, if they were carers due to their uniforms - to which they responded yes.
The woman then placed ten pounds in each of their hands, and wished them a merry Christmas. The kind gesture left one of the carers "bawling her eyes out" in a taxi to work.

In a Facebook post, she said: "Absolutely bawling in the taxi on the way to work. Just got out of the Spar on Prescot Road and a lady asked myself and another if we were carers presumably because of our uniforms. We said yes and she proceeded to put a tenner in both of our hands and wish us a Happy Christmas.
"I’m in tears, it’s honestly so nice to feel appreciated. Thank you so much for your kindness. I’ll be paying it forwards over the Christmas period. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday whatever you’re doing."
One comment said: "How lovely, aww what a lovely lady for doing that still lots of lovely kind people in the world."
While another added: "People slate St Helens but I think we are a strong community with good people in it and it does make a huge difference at a time like this."
