The Arizona Cardinals are expected to try and trade out of the No. 3 pick in the 2023 NFL draft next week. They are not expected to try and trade up in the first round.
In a new two-round mock draft by Draft Wire managing editor Jeff Risdon, the Cardinals do both. They trade out of the No. 3 pick and then trade back into the top 10.
Let’s look at the moves and the picks.

Trade from No. 3 to No. 11
Cardinals trade No. 3 pick, No. 105 pick (Round 4) to Titans
Cardinals receive No. 3 pick, No. 72 pick (Round 3), No. 147 pick (Round 5), 2024 first-round pick
Based on the deal the San Francisco 49ers made in 2021 to draft Trey Lance, this doesn’t really get it done.
Trade up to No. 7
Cardinals trade No. 11 pick, No. 66 pick (Round 3) to Raiders
Cardinals receive No. 7 pick
With this deal, the Cardinals are left again with two third-round picks but still have an extra fifth-rounder.
No. 7 pick: Texas Tech EDGE Tyree Wilson
Not getting Will Anderson, the Cardinals target the other top pass rusher in the draft in Wilson.
Wilson is a better physical fit at defensive end than Allen.
No. 34 pick (Round 2): Georgia TE Darnell Washington
A tight end in the second round for the second year in a row doesn’t seem likely. They have Trey McBride and also have veteran Zach Ertz.
However, Washington is a perfect blend of blocking prowess and great hands.
