Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has a change on his staff for the first time since he took the job. He is losing his linebackers coach. After it was reported that Virginia Tech was targeting Sam Siefkes to be their defensive coordinator, the university officially announced he has been hired.
He returns to the college ranks after being in the NFL since 2021. He spent two years with the Minnesota Vikings on their defensive staff before becoming the Cardinals’ linebackers coach in 2023.
In 2025, it means that someone new will coach Mack Wilson, Owen Pappoe and whoever they add to the roster at inside linebacker.
