The Arizona Cardinals are in the middle of their preparation for the 2024 NFL draft and that include meetings with many prospects, whether they be top-30 meetings when they fly them in, meetings and pro days, the Senior Bowl and combine, or whether they are virtual.
The Cardinals have had a virtual meeting with N.C. State offensive lineman Dylan McMahon, the player told The Draft Network’s Justin Melo.
McMahon has others scheduled with other teams.
McMahon is an intriguing prospect because of his athleticism. He is 6-foot-3 and 299 pounds. At the NFL combine, he ran the 40 in 5.10 seconds but other marks are elite for his size. He completed the three-cone in 7.26 seconds and the short shuttle was 4.33 seconds (important note on the short shuttle — it is a cheat code for draftable linemen and Cardinals 2023 fourth-round pick Jon Gaines met the number)
He sees himself as a center at the NFL level.
“I just feel like that’s where I fit best in an NFL scheme,” he told Melo. “I just love playing that center position. Simply put, it’s a lot more fun to me.”
His short arms (31 3/4 inches) and lack of strength might make make him undraftable but his athleticism is something some team like the Cardinals might bet on with a Day 3 pick.
