The NFL trade deadline is approaching. It is Tuesday, Nov. 5, which is next week. According to The Athletic’s Mike Jones, the Cardinals have been making calls around the league seeking help with their pass rush.
The Cardinals have not gotten much from their edge defenders and have been impacted by injuries. BJ Ojulari, expected to be the Cardinals’ best pass rusher off the edge, tore his ACL in training camp. Dennis Gardeck, whose three sacks in Week 2 still lead the team, tore his ACL in Week 7 and will miss the rest of the season. Rookie Darius Robinson, one of the team’s two first-round draft picks this year, has yet to play this season.
As a team, they only have 15 sacks, but only four have have come from their outside linebackers.
A number of pass rushers could be had in a trade, It includes players like Jadeveon Clowney, Azeez Ojulari, Za’Darius Smith, Arden Key, Chase Young and others.
The question is how serious the Cardinals about adding a player to the mix to make a potential push for the postseason, as they are currently in first place in the NFC West.
But they only have one pick in each of the first six rounds of the draft, so how much will they be willing to give up?
The impending deadline has already led to a few deals around the league. Will the Cardinals get involved in the next few days? We will find out in the days to come.
