With the NFL combine over, the next phase in the NFL draft has been completed. Teams and fans know how the prospects weight and measure and now have a better picture of their athleticism.
With the completion of the combine, it is time for a new round of mock drafts and we have two-round projections from Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy. The Arizona Cardinals land an unsurprising player with the fourth pick but their next two picks are names you might not have heard connected to them before.
Read on!
Round 1 (No. 4 overall): Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Harrison did not test at the combine and also skipped the media session. He did, though, speak with teams and the Cardinals has a good interview with him.
But there is no question that he is a perfect fit with the Cardinals in terms of talent, fit and team need.
Round 1 (No. 27 overall): Duke OL Graham Barton
Barton measured 6-foot-5 3/8 and weighed 313 pounds with 32 7/8-inch arms. He did not test.
Barton, like Troy Fautanu is a guy who has starter potential at multiple spots along the offensive line and gives the Cardinals lots of scheme versatility.
The Cardinals need someone new to start at guard or tackle this season so he isn’t a bad option.
Round 2 (no. 35 overall): N.C. State LB Payton Wilson
Wilson blew away the combine with his athletic testing. At 6-foot-4 and 233 pounds, he ran the 40 in 4.43 seconds. The Cardinals do need a linebacker to line up next to Kyzir White.
