Hit Daniel Jones
Jones was sacked seven times last week. The Cardinals have sacked him 14 times in two games they have faced him. He is prone to turnovers if under duress.
The sacks and hits will read to turnovers. That’s critical.
Limit Saquon Barkley
The Cardinals slowed Washington’s running game. They can slow Barkley. If he is only getting gains of three and four yards and ends up with 80 yards, they have done their jobs.
The problem is if he busts free into the open field.
The best way would be to force the Giants to throw the ball and avoid him running the ball.
No turnovers
Josh Dobbs’ two fumbles in Week 1 that the Commanders turned into 10 points ended up being the difference in the game.
The Cardinals’ offense is bad. If they turn the ball over, they might not be able to overcome it, no matter how well the defense plays.
Cut down penalties
The Cardinals had 122 yards in penalty yards. 67 of them came in a 91-yard Washington touchdown drive.
The Cardinals have little room for errors. Some penalties happen.
Personel fouls, unsportsmanlike conduct and presnap penalties can’t happen.
