The Arizona Cardinals released their list of inactive players 90 minutes before kickoff of their Week 7 road matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. They got reinforcements for a banged-up secondary.
Safety Budda Baker, activated from injured reserve after being out five weeks with a hamstring injury, dressed and was set to start. Rookie cornerback Garrett Williams, activated from the non-football injury list, would make his debut. While Baker would start, Williams’ role is unknown.
The Cardinals’ inactive players were no surprise.
Arizona Cardinals Week 7 inactives
- WR Zach Pascal
- S Qwuantrezz Knight
- LB Jesse Luketa
- CB Antonio Hamilton
- S Jalen Thompson
- OL Carter O’Donnell
- OL Elijah Wilkinson
Pascal was questionable with a neck injury and did not practice all week. Hamilton was ruled out with a groin injury and Thompson misses his second straight game with a hamstring injury. Wilkinson was out with a neck injury.
Dennis Daley will start in Wilkinson’s place at left guard.
Baker’s return balances Thompson’s absence at safety. Baker and K’Von Wallace will start. With both Thompson and Hamilton out, the question is who will play in the slot.
Luketa is inactive for the second straight week.
Rookie tight end Elijah Higgins will make his NFL debut. He is active for the first time this season. He probably will fill Pascal’s role on special teams and perhaps on offense.
