Cardinals have a new franchise leader in player of the week honors

After throwing one touchdown pass and rushing for two others in a 31-6 win over the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

With five previous player of the week honors (one in 2021, three in 2020 and one in 2019), this is his sixth, giving him the most in franchise history. Kurt Warner, Chandler Jones and Patrick Peterson each had five.

He completed 22-of-24 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for 31 yards and two touchdowns.

He became the first player in NFL history to, in the same game, completed at least 85% of his passes, pass for at least 250 yards and rush for two touchdowns.

He completed his final 17 passes, setting a franchise record for consecutive completed passes, a streak he will carry over into his next game after the bye.

Cardinals players have been getting recognized. Punter Blake Gillikin was the conference special teams player of the week and kicker Chad Ryland was the special teams player of the month for the NFC in October.
