Cardinals GM says there is ‘zero chance’ team trades Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray have a little bit of drama this offseason, as he is eligible for a contract extension and the team has not yet agreed to a new deal.

This has led to a lot of speculation and even some trade rumors and proposals.

However, Cardinals general manager Steve Keim made one thing clear. According to multiple reporters in attendance when Keim held his predraft press conference on Thursday, Keim said there is “zero chance” the team will trade Murray.

Murray has never asked for a trade and has publicly said he isn’t worried about his future with the team.

Everything about a trade has been generated outside the organization.

And it would make no sense to trade him. He is already one of the top-four quarterbacks in franchise history. There isn’t a quarterback better than him in the draft. They couldn’t move up high enough in the draft to get a decent quarterback and who would replace him, Colt McCoy? McCoy is a very good backup. He is 10-23 as a starter in his 12-year career.

When teams have a young franchise quarterback, they don’t trade them unless they have to. They don’t have to.

They will give him a contract extension and once that happens, all this noise will go away.
