Cardinals give 3-year deal to former Raiders DL Bilal Nichols

The Arizona Cardinals are starting to make moves in free agency, adding defensive tackle Bilal Nichols. After the report of adding cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, they have made their biggest move in free agency in two years under general manager Monti Ossenfort.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Nichols is getting a three-year deal worth $21 million and includes $14.4 million guaranteed.

Nichols is 27 years old, listed at 6-foot-3 and 313 pounds.

He was a fifth-round pick in 2018 by the Chicago Bears, where he played four seasons. He spent the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.

He did not miss a game each of the last two seasons and started all 34. He has not missed a game in the last four years.

He had 1.5 sacks and four tackles for loss each of the last two seasons.

He played 804 snaps in 2022 and 615 last season.

He has 14 career sacks and a high of five in 2020.

This is officially the biggest “splash” the Cardinals have made the last two seasons. Last year, the biggest contract they gave out was Kyzir White’s two-year, $10 million deal.
