Cardinals elevate 2 from practice squad for season opener

The Arizona Cardinals announced a pair of roster moves to get ready for their season opener on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. They elevated tackle Jackon Barton and safety Ande Chachere from the practice squad to the active roster.

Chachere will give the Cardinals four safeties available to play. He will probably play special teams.

With tackle Kelvin Beachum out with a hand injury, the Cardinals need a backup tackle. It would appear that Barton be active for the game and that he will suit up instead of newly claimed tackle Carter O’Donnell.

The Cardinals and Commanders kick off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at FedEx Field.
