Cardinals do not activate Kyler Murray from PUP

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was officially listed on the team’s final injury report of Week 8 as doubtful. So it was no surprise that, when the team announced roster moves for Sunday’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, Murray was not activated from the PUP (physically unable to perform) reserve.

He is not eligible to play on Sunday.

On PUP since before the season because he has been recovering from a torn ACL suffered last December, he was designated to return the week leading up to the team’s game last week against the Seattle Seahawks.

That opened a three-week window for him to be activated and placed on the 53-man roster.

Per Ian Rapoport, the plan was to use almost all if not all the window for Murray to get ready, giving him a potential return in Week 9 on the road against the Cleveland Browns on Week 10 at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

But as for the game against the Ravens, it will once again be Josh Dobbs starting at quarterback.
