The Arizona Cardinals have had more than their share of injuries this season. In fact, as a result of the roster moves the Cardinals have had to make this season to counter missing players, they actually lead the NFL in a this interesting stat.
They have used 76 different players through 10 games this season, the most in the league. The Tennessee Titans, who played Thursday night, are second with 73 players used through Week 11.
This isn’t hard to believe. After all, the Cardinals have used four different kickers this season — Matt Prater and then Matt Ammendola, Rodrigo Blankenship and Tristan Vizcaino when Prater was either hurt or too sick to play.
It would appear that, as they prepare to play the San Francisco 49ers this week, they will not have to add to that total.
Third-string quarterback Trace McSorley has already played this season. Their most recent additions to the team — offensive lineman Wyatt Davis and defensive lineman Trysten Hill — appeared in the Cardinals’ win over the Rams on Sunday.
The record for players used in a season was set by the Titans last year, when they used 91 different players.
With seven games remaining, the Cardinals could potentially reach that number.
