Cardinals Announce Significant Injury Update for Quarterback Kyler Murray

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray will practice on Wednesday afternoon, coach Jonathan Gannon said, officially opening the window for his removal from injured reserve and a return to the field.

Murray confirmed that he would be practicing Wednesday with a simple social media post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Practicing today,” Murray wrote.

Murray has yet to play this season after tearing his ACL last December. Prior to the injury, he had completed 66.4% of his throws for 2,368 yards and 14 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

Veteran quarterback Josh Dobbs has been under center to start the year for the Cardinals, who are 1–5 following Sunday’s 26–9 loss to the Rams. Dobbs has been respectable, completing 62.8% of his passes for 1,215 yards and six touchdowns to three interceptions, but the team has a much higher ceiling with Murray in the fold.

The Cardinals will likely be patient with Murray, with a return to the field this Sunday in Seattle likely being a stretch. However, expect the former No. 1 pick to be back in the fold under center sooner rather than later if he can prove he’s healthy enough in practice over the next couple weeks.
