The Arizona Cardinals have had a very frustrating season so far. They are 3-4, which is probably better than most figured they would be after seven games, but they have been a mix of tough and awful.
After a win over the L.A. Chargers on Monday night, the Cardinals once again find themselves in a position to turn a corner and really go in the right direction.
They could lead the NFC West at the end of the week.
The Seattle Seahawks sit atop the division at 4-3 and host the Buffalo Bills. The Cardinals face the Miami Dolphins on the road at 3-4.
If the Seahawks lose to Buffalo, which is not by any means a stretch, and the Cardinals beat the Dolphins, both would be 4-4 but the Cardinals and their 2-0 record in the division would give them a tiebreaker.
Imagine, with all the Cardinals have dealt with and with all the inconsistencies, sitting in first place in the division entering the midpoint of the season.
That would have been crazy talk in the offseason.
The last time they were in that position two weeks ago, they were blown out by the Green Bay Packers.
We can find out what the Cardinals are made of this week and whether they have learned anything from their last two blowout losses.
