The Arizona Cardinals announced three additions in free agency on Tuesday. Two players were brought back and a third was an outside free agent. The team announced it agreed to a one-year contract with former Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman L.J. Collier.
Collier was a first-round pick in 2019 and never lived up to expectations.
He is listed at 6-foot-2 and 291 pounds.
The 27-year-old appeared in only eight games last season and had seven tackles, a tackle for loss, a quarterback hit and two pass breakups.
He has three career sacks, all in 2020.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Cardinals plan on using him all over the defensive line.
It is a potentially high-upside addition that won’t cost much.
Perhaps what Collier needs is a change of scenery to blossom.
