Cardinal’s grade for DT Dante Stills in Round 6: A

The Arizona Cardinals used their final draft pick in the sixth round on West Virginia defensive lineman Dante Stills. He played five seasons for the Mountaineers, finishing with 24.5 sacks and 53 tackles for loss.

He is a little undersized and on the low end of strength but has an elite athletic profile for the defensive interior.

What grade do the Cardinals deserve with this pick?

Cardinals’ grade: A

Stills is quietly a great selection, considering where he was drafted — with a compensatory sixth-round pick.

He is an elite athlete and was highly productive.

Some might have said Texas defensive lineman Moro Ojomo would have been a better pick. He was drafted in the seventh round.

But he played five years so isn’t any younger. He was less productive as a player and, while a little bigger, is not quite as athletic as Stills.

Looking at the players who were drafted after Stills, I would consider maybe one over him in UAB running back DeWayne McBride, but it isn’t clear.

Stills has huge upside at a position of need and he can just play rotationally and be a success.

An offer for Cardinals fans
