Cardiff sky lit up after van catches fire in supermarket car park

Dramatic images show the sky above Cardiff lit up after a van caught fire in a supermarket car park.

Emergency services were called to reports of a vehicle fire in Llandaff North on Tuesday evening.

Fire crews attended the scene on Station Road at around 8.12pm and used specialist equipment to extinguish the fire.

Images from the scene show smoke billowing into the sky behind a row of houses with the fire visible from a distance. Other images shared on social media appear to show the white van damaged after catching fire.

Fire crews left the scene at around 8.50pm.

A statement from South Wales Police said: "Shortly before 9.15pm last night we were informed by the Fire Service that they attended a fire involving a van in the Car Park of the Pineapple public house in Llandaff North. Officers did not attend."
