Cardiff's Supajump trampoline park admits criminal offences after four people injured

A Cardiff trampoline park and its owner have admitted criminal charges over failing to report injuries suffered by four people who were hospitalised. The accidents at Supajump near Cardiff Bay all happened on separate occasions.

Philip Henry Booth, 60, pleaded guilty to four counts of failing to report an accident which saw a person taken to hospital from the American-themed indoor leisure site in Trident Trade Park. The injuries were sustained on or around February 10, 2018; April 12, 2018; April 18, 2019; and August 9, 2019.

Booth also admitted two counts of failing to ensure people were not exposed to health and safety risks from using play equipment at Supajump. These offences took place from August 1, 2017 to April 30, 2018, and from August 1, 2018 to August 30, 2019.

Supatramp, the registered company name for the trampoline park, has pleaded guilty to the same charges as Booth. Guilty pleas were entered in September this year and the case was due to be heard at Cardiff Magistrates' Court on Thursday (November 17) but it has been adjourned until February.

The business has been registered with Companies House since 2015 and Booth is listed as an active director. According to the latest accounts — filed in March last year — the company had fixed assets of £408,919 and net current liabilities of £185,950.

Supajump includes an American diner, sweet shop and amusement arcade as well as trampolines. You can read more of the latest court stories here.
