Cardiff's Bute Park cordoned off as police, fire and ambulance attend medical emergency after young boy hurt in bike accident

A youngster was taken to hospital after being hurt in a bike accident in a city centre park in Cardiff.

Both fire and ambulance crews were called to Bute Park in the Welsh capital at around 3.30pm on March 19 after reports of a bike accident involving a young person.

A passer-by described seeing several fire engines and an ambulance in the park near Pettigrew Tea Rooms on Castle Street. The South Wales Fire and Rescue service said crews arrived at the scene just after 4pm. They stayed for approximately 90 minutes and a spokesperson said the incident concerned a bike accident involving a young person.
