Cardiff road closed for 'some time' after serious crash

A male pedestrian has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car in Cardiff on Tuesday evening. Emergency services attended the scene in Moira Place in Adamsdown at around 6.45pm and the road remained closed while police carry out investigations. South Wales Police previously warned the road could be closed "for some time".

A spokesman for the force said on Tuesday evening: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Moira Place Adamsdown. The road is currently closed. It is expected to remain closed for some time."

Ambulance crews received a call at 6.44pm after reports of a male pedestrian being hit by a car. Crews conveyed a man to the University Hospital of Wales, in Heath, with injuries, a spokesman said. South Wales Police advised drivers to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. The road has now reopened.
