Cardiff is getting its first Camembert bar and it's going to be deliciously filthy

The ultimate "homage to fromage" has arrived in Cardiff in the shape of a brand new - and Wales' first ever - dedicated Camembert bar coming to Neighbourhood Kitchen this November. With a mouth-watering selection of cheeses, toppings and sides, can you think of a better way to welcome in the cold winter months than with a gooey, baked wheel of cheese complimented by oodles of warm, fluffy bread? Us neither.

The popular joint, which has seen the likes of Gaz Oakley's Nanna O's, Fire and Flank and Taco Del Barrio take up residency in its kitchen, will be running the bar from Thursday, November 3 to Sunday, November 27, serving Tuesday til Sunday from 5pm til late. Run by Caroline and Tudor Barber - read about their story here - Neighbourhood Kitchen is described as "Cardiff’s rotating street food kitchen" and has an "ever changing menus and matching drink offerings" meaning no two visits will be the same.

Of this exciting and new venture, the pair say: "Why wouldn't you want to do a Camembert Bar?! It was an idea we came up with over 10 years ago when we were initially looking to open a restaurant so it's always been a dream of ours to do it. The response has been crazy, and we hope you can join us for the ultimate homage to fromage!"

What's more is you can have this cheese feast to your liking with the bar's build your own system, where you can choose your cheese, topping, side and dessert - oof.

That's right, you can opt to have your cheese of choice, meaning it's not just drool-worthy Camembert - Le Rustique Normandy Camembert to be precise - on offer but Caws Cenarth Welsh Perl Wen, a "glorious and unique cross between a traditional Brie and a Caerffil", as stated by the website, and a vegan option in Nurishh Plant Based Camembert.

For some, just cheese is enough. But to make it a top tier indulgence, Neighbourhood's loaded camembert toppings are on another level of dirty decadence with a choice between garlic, honey and rosemary, red onion and cranberry chutney, candied nuts, and confit duck, marmalade and Gran Marnier Cognac.

But what would be the ultimate baked Camembert treat without a doorstop of rustic bread, selection of crudités and pickles or pigs in blankets to dunk into the oozing cheesey goodness?

If you've got room after all of that, see in the festive season with a pudding or two that'll truly get you in the spirit and see you leaving the premises with an air of Father Christmas with a belly full of cheese-induced joy.

The Camembert Bar will be running at Neighbourhood Kitchen Cardiff from Thursday, November 3 to Sunday, Novemer 27.
