An aeroplane flying from Corfu has been diverted to Bristol following an incident at Cardiff Airport. A light aircraft had trouble during landing around 1:30pm this afternoon and ended up going off the end of the runway.
No one was injured and there was no damage to the aircraft but as a result a Wizz Air flight was diverted to Bristol. Passengers are - at the time of writing - still sitting on board the aircraft in Bristol waiting to find out what happens next.
The airfield at Cardiff was closed for almost an hour, reports Wales Online. The Department for Transport and Air Accidents Investigation Branch were notified and the runway reopened at 2.30pm

Passengers on the Whizz Air flight have reportedly been stuck on the runway at Bristol for two hours. It is understood the plane had been getting fuel to complete its journey to Cardiff but has yet to take off again.
A spokesperson from Cardiff Airport said: "At 1.35pm today, July 3, a light aircraft had an incident on landing at Cardiff Airport. The aircraft went off the end of the runway, resulting in the airfield being closed for just under an hour.
"Both the pilot and aircraft are fine with no injuries sustained and the aircraft remaining intact. The Department for Transport & Air Accidents Investigation Branch were notified and permission was received for the aircraft to be moved to safety from the end of the runway, allowing the airport to re-open our runway at 2.30pm.
"Disruption has been limited to one Wizz Air flight diverting to Bristol and some minor delays to operations for the afternoon. We are expecting all other activities to return to normal as soon as possible."
