Cardiff City vs Luton Town player ratings as defender looks well off it and others fail to make impact

Ryan Allsop 7

Flapped once or twice at balls into the box but was generally untroubled. Made a good low save to deny Elijah Adebayo's penalty.

Perry Ng 5

Got outleapt on one or two occasions, but largely composed both in defence and attack. Hit a really poor cross at the end when Cardiff needed an equaliser.

Mark McGuinness 7 (star man)

Pick of the bunch. Was everywhere when the danger started to come City's way. Headed countless balls away from the box and stood up to the physical challenge.

Cedric Kipre 6

Embarked on one marauding run which showed how calm and collected he was. Another who made very few errors. Harsh decision to award a penalty against him for handball.

Jack Simpson 3

Just looked off. Something wasn't right. Lost the ball so many times just lumping it down the line and Cody Drameh caused him all sorts of bother.

Ryan Wintle 4

The midfield was a bit of an issue and they were bypassed for the most part. Wintle did his defensive duties well but didn't impact the game massively going forward. Missed a huge chance when he sliced his volley wide.

Joe Ralls 4

Much of what was said above can be applied here. Just lacked that bit of quality on the ball at times.

Romaine Sawyers 4

Not massively involved and sometimes slowed play down a little when Cardiff needed to break. Added some leadership in there, though.

Sheyi Ojo 6

Some will berate him for losing the ball, but at least he tries. He runs at defenders and tries to make things happen. Struck a number of shots and forced saves. Had one lovely curling effort tipped away.

Callum Robinson 5

Was a willing runner and looked spritely early on, but he didn't manage to get in the game much after that. Set up Wintle with that good cross into the box.

Mark Harris 4

Didn't offer up a great deal and didn't seem to be on the same wavelength as others with his runs. A quiet night for him.

SUBS

Rubin Colwill (Ralls 77) 4 - Knocked off the ball too easily and misplaced passes.

Jaden Philogene (Harris 77) 4 - Much like Colwill, really.
