Bale could yet join Cardiff - Earnie
Rob Earnshaw says Gareth Bale has made a "great move" to MLS side Los Angeles FC and believes he'll have a superb time in America - but added he could see him move to Cardiff at a later stage in his career.
Wales skipper Bale yesterday confirmed where he'll be playing his football next, with West Coast club LAFC his chosen destination. The news brought to an end Cardiff City's pursuit of the 32-year-old, who was weighing up a return to his hometown club.
The former Real Madrid man revealed his decision on his social media channels on Saturday night after news broke during the afternoon stating he was heading Stateside.
Bluebirds legend Earnshaw says Bale will "love" the move to MLS and LA.

"He's picked the best club he could have gone to in the MLS. They sit top of the league," he told Sky Sports News.
"This is a great move for him. He needs to be playing for the World Cup in a few months, and it's in season. He hasn't spent a lot of time playing in this past year for Real Madrid, but he's left there now, so it's a new chapter.
"We're going to see a new Bale in a different country, in the MLS. I think he's going to love it. For me it's an unbelievable opportunity for him, he's 32 years old, he's at the time where he wants to go and experience something different, the MLS is flying right now, they've also signed Giorgio Chiellini who has left Juventus. I think Gareth is going to have a great time in LA."
On the talk linking him to the Bluebirds, Earnshaw says he couldn't really see a move ever materialising, even if it had fairytale connotations. He believes, though, it could still happen in the future.
"I believe he's had a home in Wales for years even though he's been living in Madrid for so long," he added. "It would have been nice for Gareth Bale to play in Cardiff. I think the fans and club would have just loved that, that fairytale of Gareth maybe playing even for a year or even retiring in Cardiff. Maybe down the line, it's still on. I don't know. The number one thing, I couldn't have seen him playing in the Championship.
"I look at Cardiff City this last year, they're fighting relegation, I couldn't have seen him in that environment doing that, so that's why, right now, I think this is a better move for him because of the place Cardiff City are in right now."
Brown signs for Oxford
Former Cardiff defender Ciaron Brown has re-signed for Oxford United.
The 24-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with U's, making 13 appearances for the League One club.
“It doesn’t feel like I am signing” he said. "It’s more like just reporting back for pre-season because I felt part of the club straight away when I came on loan.
“I bought into what the club is all about and how the team like to play and I loved my time here; the fans were excellent and I’m looking forward to playing my part in a successful season.”
Manager Karl Robinson added: “He is a full international, an excellent defender who can play in a couple of positions, his long throw gives us an extra option and most of all he is a good player with a fantastic attitude who we believe is going to get better and better. He settled in well last season and we’re really pleased that he is back with us.”
Rinomhota signs off
Andy Rinomhota has penned a thank you message to Reading supporters after sealing a move to Cardiff. The midfielder became Steve Morison's ninth signing of the summer on Friday, penning a three-year deal in the Welsh capital.
The 25-year-old joins on a free transfer and he signed off his time in Berkshire with a classy farewell.
"It’s never easy saying goodbye, especially to a club which has been so close to my heart for the last 7 years," he wrote on Instagram. "I came here as a boy and I leave as a man and I have loved every minute of it.
"I would be here all day if I tried to thank every individual person who has had a positive impact on me during my time here but from the roots of my heart, I’d like to thank every player I ever shared the pitch in blue and white with, every manager who gave me the opportunity to wear the shirt from the under-23s to the first team, every coach who ever worked with me and every member of staff who was ever involved in the club whilst I was here. My gratitude to you all can not be put into words. Thank you Reading. Until we meet again."
