Cardiff City transfer news as Kaba reveals what's been asked of him and youngster says he couldn't turn down move

Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City news for Friday, February 24.

Kaba eager to pay back fans

Sory Kaba says he's keen to repay the travelling Cardiff City fans for their loyalty when they take on Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Kaba has enjoyed a promising start to life in the capital, appearing in four of the last five games, opening his Bluebirds account with a strike against Middlesbrough, and is relishing the chance to take on the Canaries this weekend.

"Of course, it's a good team," he said "I think last year they were in the Premier League. I think all football players like to play in big games, so we are just focused on ourselves, and trying to be in the game on Saturday.

"Everybody having his best game for us, we are just focused on us. It will be a hard game, but we are confident.

"We are trying to figure out the good connections between everybody, and win games. As a striker, the coaches ask us to be the first people who need to defend. We need to do the job in front when the team needs to breath. As well, as a striker, we need to score.

"Since I've come, I'm very impressed with what the fans have given to us, the energy. We are hoping to give them something back home, because it's a long trip. We will do everything in our hands to bring something."

Wagner receives injury boost

David Wagner could welcome star man Teemu Pukki back into his Norwich City squad for the upcoming clash with the Bluebirds.

The Finnish international has returned to training and, if he emerges unscathed, could well be involved at the weekend.

However, on the flip side, Kieran Dowell looks set to be out of action until late April following a knee injury picked up against Birmingham City.

"If everything goes to plan, Teemu will train today. If that is without issue, he'll be in the squad," Wagner said.

"Kieran has a knee injury, he will be out until the second part of April. We wish him all the best and will support him to get back on the level that he has shown.

"He won't need surgery but it will take time. It happened very early, after five minutes when he had a great movement in the box. I was quite surprised after the game when I saw the diagnosis on the scan.

"We will miss him like we miss Josh, and we miss Teemu. But even though we've missed them, everyone has done their job and we haven't got carried away with injuries.

"We have hope that Josh will be back before the international break but not tomorrow and probably not Millwall."

Leahy 'couldn't turn down' move

Cardiff City youngster Jack Leahy says he 'couldn't turn down' the chance to move to Haverfordwest on loan, and has revealed that a chat with academy chief Gavin Chesterfield helped convince him to make the move out west.

Leahy has already made two appearances for his new side, and says he's enjoying life in the JD Cymru Premier.

Speaking about the move, he told the club's YouTube channel: "I didn't really know too much about the league at first. Obviously I knew about teams like TNS because they played in the Europa League.

"But once Gav Chesterfield sat down with me and explained to me how it's a tactical league. Very physical. I was very intrigued to go.

"I spoke to Tony Pennock [the manager] on the phone and I like the way you play down at Haverfordwest. It's possession-based football. Like to play forwards and Tony's a really nice guy as well. It was an opportunity I couldn't turn down."

Prutton backs Norwich

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has backed Norwich City to dent Cardiff City's survival hopes at Carrow Road.

Writing in his predictions column, he said: "That was a decent win for Norwich in midweek, and what a goal from Marcelino Nunez. Right out of the top drawer stuff. It is another good home game for them here, too.

"Cardiff have enjoyed a couple of wins on the bounce, but this is a far bigger test of how far they may have come under Sabri Lamouchi. I can't see them making it three in a row, or taking anything here.

"Prediction: 1-0"
