Cardiff City will recall Mark McGuinness from his loan stint at Sheffield Wednesday, WalesOnline has learned.
The defender has made a fantastic impression up at Hillsborough and won the club's Player of the Month award for the last two months running.
Owls fans will be devastated to learn that McGuinness, who this week celebrated his 22nd birthday, will head back down to his parent club. However, it is understood he will be available for Darren Moore for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Newcastle United.

The Republic of Ireland youth international is due to report back to Cardiff's training base at the start of next week.
McGuinness has grown to become a fan favourite in a short space of time up in Yorkshire, a loan which has more than served its purpose in allowing the player to gain more experience in League One.
But Cardiff simply could not ignore the consistency of his performances and have made the decision to bring him back down to south Wales, with all hands at the pump needed for the back half of the season and a relegation battle looming.
It comes after Cardiff announced that Sean Morrison would not be getting a new contract with the club after eight-and-a-half years of service. With Oliver Denham suffering an injury setback and Curtis Nelson the subject of transfer speculation, Mark Hudson needs another option at centre-back to ensure all his bases are covered.
Cedric Kipre and Perry Ng have struck up an excellent partnership at the back, however both Jack Simpson and Nelson have had inconsistent seasons to date.
McGuinness, on the other hand, has been consistently excellent for the Owls and will bolster the City back line in the coming months.
